Deliberate Fires in Grange Park |
||
|
Staffordshire Police have received reports of deliberate fires being started in Grange Park, Cobridge.
Deliberately setting fires can have serious and far-reaching consequences. They pose a significant risk to members of the public, nearby homes and property, and can spread quickly, particularly during warm weather.
These incidents also cause unnecessary harm to local wildlife and destroy natural habitats within the park. Every call to the Fire and Rescue Services diverts firefighters and emergency resources away from genuine emergencies where lives and property may be at risk.
Deliberately starting a fire is a criminal offence and those responsible could face police action, including prosecution where appropriate.
We would ask parents and carers to speak with their children about the dangers of setting fires, and to encourage them to respect our local parks and open spaces.
If you witness anyone deliberately starting fires or acting suspicious in the area, please report to Staffordshire Police via 101 or online, if a fire is posing an immediate risk always call 999.
By working together, we can help keep Grange Park safe for everyone to enjoy.
